Application Scenario
A tableware factory supplies white bowls, compartment trays and decorated plates to restaurant distributors and institutional catering companies. The moulded products meet the required shape and weight, but the surface appearance varies between production shifts. Some items look dull under showroom lighting, while others require extra polishing before packing.
Why Surface Quality Matters
For commercial tableware, the surface is the first quality signal buyers see. Uniform gloss helps white products look cleaner and makes printed decoration appear sharper. A well-controlled surface also simplifies visual inspection because contamination, incomplete transfer and handling marks are easier to identify before packaging. However, glazing powder is not a substitute for correct moulding conditions; material dosage, temperature, pressure and timing must work together.
The Glazing Powder Approach
A suitable melamine glazing powder is selected according to the base compound, decoration method and required finish. It may be applied during the moulding cycle to create a brighter, smoother top layer or used with decal paper to protect the design. Dongxin’s technical team can review the customer’s current formulation and trial conditions, then recommend a practical starting window for sampling.
Production Control Points
The factory should standardise weighing, application timing and powder distribution. The mould surface must be clean, the press temperature stable and the operator’s sequence repeatable. Trial pieces are checked for gloss uniformity, colour shift, pinholes, incomplete coverage and adhesion around curved edges. Approved samples are retained as visual standards for each shift and batch.
Result in Daily Operations
Once the process is stabilised, the factory can reduce repeated polishing and improve the consistency of mixed cartons supplied to distributors. Decorated products gain a more uniform protective finish, while plain white hotelware presents a cleaner premium appearance. The greatest value is repeatability: the same product should look consistent when a buyer reorders months later.
Responsible Product Use
Finished articles must be produced and tested for their intended food-contact market. Melamine tableware should be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions and should not be promoted for microwave or oven use. Dongxin can coordinate raw material, glazing powder and process support as one system, helping customers focus on controlled production rather than treating each input as an isolated purchase.
